Mrs. Patience Ballard, aged 64 years, the wife of W. S. Ballard, died quite unexpectedly Thursday at 6 o'clock a.m. at her home on west Wabash avenue. She was suffering from the grip but was not considered to be in a dangerous condition. The funeral occurred Friday at 12:15 p. m., conducted by Rev. H. O. Summers, of Indianapolis, after which the remains were taken to Roachdale for interment. Mrs. Ballard was raised in this State and lived most of her life about three miles from Ladoga. About ten years ago she removed with her husband to Greencastle and four years ago came to this city. Mrs. Ballard was a most excellent old lady and lived a long and very useful life. Her sudden death is generally lamented by all who knew her.
